Not the Other Way Around.
It’s easy to start an agricultural project by choosing a width, length, and building package.
We prefer to start with what the building actually needs to accomplish.
What needs to fit inside? How should equipment enter and exit? Where do animals move? What clearances matter? Will the building need water, power, heat, or conditioned space? Could the operation change five or ten years from now?
Those questions can influence everything from building dimensions and structural systems to door placement, interior layout, utilities, and cost.
The objective is not simply to put up a building. It’s to build the right building for the property.
BEFORE THE BUILDING, THERE’S A PLAN.
The Best Solution Isn’t Always the First One.
A project may have several ways it can be built.
Post-frame construction may make sense for one project. A weld-up or pre-engineered steel structure may make more sense for another. An existing building may be worth expanding instead of replacing. A different span, roofline, orientation, or footprint may accomplish the same objective at a significantly different cost.
Gallatin works through those decisions before committing to a construction approach.
When the project requires engineering, architectural design, specialty systems, or other professional input, we coordinate with the appropriate people to move the project toward a buildable solution.

From Property to Project
Site - How do access, drainage, utilities, existing buildings, property layout, and future development affect where and how we build?
Budget - Where should money be spent, and where can the project be simplified without compromising what the owner actually needs?
Building System - Does the project make the most sense as post-frame, conventional framing, weld-up steel, pre-engineered metal, or another system?
Construction - Once the direction is established, Gallatin coordinates the trades, materials, schedule, and construction through completion.

Sometimes the Best Building Is the One You Already Have.
Older agricultural buildings aren’t automatically obsolete.
Existing columns, foundations, framing, concrete, utilities, or portions of a structure may still have significant value. In the right circumstances, modifying or expanding what already exists can provide a better solution than starting over.
Gallatin evaluates existing conditions and works with engineers and specialty contractors when necessary to determine what can reasonably be retained, what needs to change, and whether rehabilitation or replacement makes more sense.
ROOFING & RESTORATION
Protecting the Buildings You Already Have.
Gallatin also provides roofing and restoration services for agricultural and rural buildings, including metal roofing, repairs, replacement, and silicone roof restoration for qualifying systems.
When an existing roof can reasonably be repaired or restored, complete replacement isn’t always the first answer.
